application areas
For the repeated, temporary antiseptic treatment of mucous membranes and adjacent skin before diagnostic and operational measures - in the ano -genital area of vagina, vulva, Glans penis, also before catheterization of the urinary bladder - in the oral cavity. To the temporary supportive therapy for skin diseases between the toes and supportive antiseptic wound treatment.
Contradictions
OCTENISEPT® should not be used for rinsing in the abdominal cavity (e.g. intraoperative) and the bladder and not on the eardrum. Hypersensitivity compared to the drug -effective components or one of the other components.
Side effects
Rarely: burning, reddening, itching and feeling of warmth, very rare: contact allergic reactions, such as temporary redness, not known: after lining deep wounds by means of a syringe, the occurrence of persistent edema, erythema and tissue necrosis was reported, some of which required surgical revision . In the case of rinsing in the oral cavity, Octenisept® temporarily causes a bitter taste.
Warnings
Octenisept® do not swallow in larger quantities or get into the bloodstream, e.g. by accidental injection. The application of OCTENISEPT® in the eye must be avoided. With accidental eye contact, rinse with lots of water immediately. In order to avoid tissue damage, the preparation must not be inserted into the depth of the tissue using injection. The preparation is only intended for superficial application (applying using a swab or spraying).
